Architrave corner blocks The idea behind the Architrave corner block is that it offers an alternative to mitring architraves around doors and windows etc. As a general rule they are 10mm wider than the architrave or trim they are accompanying, so if you are using a 70mm architrave then you will need a 80mm corner block.

Bearer;- a term used for a batten in first fix carpentry or roofing which is normally concealed i.e. sawn timber not planed or machined timber. Batten;- a term used for a bearer in 2nd fix carpentry that is concealed or visible and usually planned or machined timber. 10. Hi Team I am as old as a young conker tree and been in the building trade man and boy. I am a time served apprentice in the days when it was an apprenticeship five long years learning my trade and that is bespoke cabinet maker. You can find out more about me and the type of things I design and make from my workshop on the door step of our second city by visiting my website. I am also developing a second website and this will a site that visitors can down load How-2-Guides these will be produced in conduction with this DIY forum and other DIY forums. It will not be a forum never in the reign of pigs pudding will I run a forum. All I want to do is offer the DIYer good advice in the form of well presented guides. And the only way I feel you can do this is by joining forum like this and other forums to see what questions are being asked and what help I can give and at that the same time see if there is a need for a guide to be produced. I have already asked admin if they would like to contribute to the guides and I only help they do. This looks and reads a little or a lot like spam but it is not I am just trying to introduce my self by telling you all what I am about but I will understand if any of the moderators feel they should edit or even delete this thread completely.
