Fridge Light ? Negative To Positive

I am having a funny prob with my fridge freezer (BEKO ca45411ffs)

Its stopped freezing and cooling etc.

However, the fan in freezer works when switched on inside fridge at light fitment,,but the light dont come on.I`ve checked and the bulb works.

When I checked ( voltage tester) the wires going to bulb fitment, I found the negative wire was showing a 110 voltage and the live was showing the correct voltage...no wonder the bulb wont come on.

The power comes in correctly to the fitting, and is distributed when I turn on switch, but the neg gets this 110 voltage.

Is this the reason the fridge is not freezing properly, because wrong power/voltage is going to units( condenser etc)

The light switch function in fridge is used to turn on light and set cooling controls.

Its a standard 0,, 1 - 5 dial.

I dont know if this control is faulty ( hence wont freeze,) and if this fault is making the negative test at 110 volts.

This one needs somebopdy who knows more than me.....( I am a good amateur ele4ctrician)

much appreciated
