brrttpaul
Hi all, I am a bricklayer and have opened up my fireplace to put a real fire (basket type) in. The fireplace is approximately just over a metre wide and about a metre high. The problem is the lack of a canopy is going to cause smoke to come back in. I could brick the fireplace in a little to make everything smaller, this is the cheapest option as being a bricklayer it will cost me nothing, but Id much prefer to keep the whole thing open, an thats where the problem lies. Is the canopy just screwed to the wall? I would imagine so but unsure on this, also I have tried looking on the net but they all seem to be around the £500 mark which to me is silly money for a bit of shaped steel. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions im all ears. I will be on to a blacksmith tomorrow to see how much he would charge to make one, but as i said anyone have any suggestions then im all ears.cheersPaul
