simonwoods33
Hi,I recently moved into a house with decking in the garden and was hoping someone could give me a few tips as to how to look after it.I'm unsure of when it was last treated but can see that it has been at least stained - due to its tone. one particular area is a little slippery which leads me to believe there is algae growing. So I am going to clean it and re-treat it asap before it begins to degrade.Would anyone kindly let me know whether it would be best to just simply clean the timber and then use some decking oil to coat and protect it? or should I be doing more as it already has a coat of something on it?Any tips on what to use also welcome. Many thank,Simon. homesecurity
My friend cleaned his with a power washer. It came up lovely.I would personally stain it. This would be easier than oiling it, which would need to be done more often, and I personally don't like the shiny appearance of a varnish.
