carsmarcit Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Guys,hope You Can Offer Some Advice.ive Got A Rattling In My Wall Which I Suspect Is Something To Do With The Flue.ive Been Told It Is A Cast Flue And I Am Going To Venture Up Into The Loft At The Weekend To Have A Look.any Advice Would Be Greatly Recieved As I Am Not Sure Where To Start.the Flue Is Unused And Bricked Up Downstairs So Can I Just Disconnect It? jonlee Posted January 10, 2009 Report Share Posted January 10, 2009 you sholud have no problems diconecting the flue if its not used but if you have a pre cast flue most of it is built directly into the wall with maybe a metal pipe going through the loft that part would be the only bit able to make a noise i would check on the roof to see if you have a loose chimney cowl first as might only be a quick fix Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
