Stop pipes freezing

Hi

I am out of heating oil ,my boiler is in the garage and water pipes run outside(underground).

On checking the web I could find no mention of turning on my electric immersion heater and running the heating system (without boiler)

Thus heating the boiler and pipes in reverse.

Am I missing something????

Have you checked with the boiler manufacturer by any chance?

That would be the very first place I would start..
