kriswithak
Hello,We have inherited a wooden cabinet. Unfortunately it is impossible to get upstairs in our house because there is a narrow tight 90 degree turn in our stairs, with a low ceiling. The only solution I can find is to cut the cabinet in half below a drawer line and refix when it is up.In terms of reconnecting the two halves, I thought some form of brass fixing, that way if we move it is easily removed from the house.Has anyone any suggestions on suitable fixings? In my head I am imagining a brass strip similar in appearance to a piano hinge, but without the hinge section!CheersKris
Guest gissle
Hi,Hard to say without seeing it. I am sure you could find brass strips like you described.Otherwise, I would drill holes in the top and bottom and use wooden dowels to hold the two parts together.I hope it's not an antique!
