smiler Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Hi,New to all this and need help with an electrical problem.RIGHT,HERE WE GO--I have a light at the bottom of the stairs and a light at the top of the stairs. The light switch at the bottom of the stairs has two switches that operate the bottom light and the top light. The switch at the top of the stairs has one switch that operates the light at the top of the stairs.Problem started when i replaced the switches with brushed steel ones and i copied the placements of the wiring. Now what is happening is that when i switch on from upstairs and then switch off from upstairs, the top light flickers constantly. The only way i can stop the flickering is by switching the light off from downstairs. While this maybe a good way of getting some exercise, the wife is,nt too happy.Anyone have any ideas,please.CHEERS.
wilsonmian Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Should I say it short circuiting?
Stephen Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 It sounds to me like you have got a loose wire somewhere along the way. check the wiring in both switches. I am pretty certain that you will find a loose one.
123v Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 maybe a loose wire of some kind, my dad experienced this problem last year.
