I can tell you now, if you had bare copper wires, inside a pipe, and they were live, you would have known about it long ago... Never has 2 bare seperate wires been put close together like this.. It looks like those cables in the hole have plastic sheathing on them, and possibly what you drilled through is a cable cover... All be it an inadequate looking one as moden ones are armoured to prevent drilling through them without extreme force... Best thing might be to get an electrician to get it checked out.. Whats the fluff around the hole too? Looks like MDF..

Hiya Best thing to do with this is to pressure wash the fence first, then leave to dry before spraying new colour. A good blasting with a Karcher will get the old colour off easy... Will get you a bit wet in the process, but its the only way to do it. As with ANY painting, you cannot, and will never be able to paint dark colours over other dark colours, it will look rubbish... You need a contrasting background/undercoat... So, a dark colour on a light wood is great, but put that same dark colour on a dark wood, and it will look totally different, if it shows up. Give the fence a Karcher blasting and all should be fine.. My fence is the same, it used to be a horrible Green, same colour as the grass, there was zero contrast in my garden at all, it sucked, so I blasted the entire fence, and it cleaned it all right off immediately, although it was slow work, do it on a warm/hot day and its not so bad

Hi there mystery guest with no name Is this the actual window itself, or, as you suggest, this is similar to it? This is more like an office window, and anything you want to fit on-top-of those blinds will have to fit onto the ceiling.. Whats the ceiling like, is it a good solid firm fitting to screw into and hold the weight of curtains or is it just plasterboard between joists?
