  9. Hi David Those look like transport screws that come in major appliances like washing machines. The things you take out before using it, but stop the drum rattling around during delivery. We had 4 of these in the back of our washing machine when we got it..
  10. Hiya J From that video it looks like its only th layers of paint that are falling off / flaking with just cracked render, unless of course you knock it with your knuckle and it sounds hollow, in which case its "blown" as they say (Detached itself from the wall) When I had my entire house re-rendered, they didnt seal the brickwork with PVA at all, dont need to I'm told, the render had a weather sheild stuff in it, then once it was all rendered, I painted the entire house with render sealant which sealed it all, and left a strong surface to paint onto easily. It soaked right into the new render
  11. Hey John This might sound a little overkill, but personally, I would look at hanging it from the ceiling, even if it meant taking a small strip of ceiling down and inserting a small steel joist across the 2 walls.. Doesnt have to be anything major, but what would worry me is not just hanging the 30kg bag from the bracket, but the fact that the bag would be constantly moving around and taking impacts, which resonate back through the bracket and fixings. Without knowing the strength of the wall and its structural integrity its hard for anybody to guess.. Might even be worth phoning a surveyor an
  12. Another problem with boxing in pipwork is that it has to be readily removable incase inspection or repair is needed, but also, its not ideal anyway due to animals turning it into a home and creating new problems for you.. As your renting, get the landlord to sort it out, otherwise you might find, if you do anything with their permission, they might force you to take it down, or you could loose your deposit for the cost of putting it back how it was. As I said, your plumbing is meant to have U bends in the piperwork to prevent drafts and smells coming up the pipes, so get that addressed first..
  13. A proper patio would be a far better move, and really shouldnt cost much more than a patio, is easier to maintain, and far cheaper to maintain, easier to clean, always looks "Good as new" when cleaned (Unlike decking) and also doesnt create voids underneath it for animals to live in like mice, rats etc... I've just laid my own using plastic driveway trays from B&Q, dug a big square out of my grass 2.5m x 4m, 2" deep, lined it with weed barrier, drop the trays in (They lock together) then fill with gravel/sand and just lay my slabs on top... Looks awesome, cheap enough to do without too muc
  14. Gissle For something like boilers/electrics etc, your better off having a professional tradesman come and inspect those items.. Certainly worth asking to see a boilers annual service certificate, because without it, many home insurance policies are void if the boiler blows up or leaks casing damage.. Same for the electrics, without the relevant certificates for installation, its just a chance you take, much like buying a car without a full inspection by a mechanic.. Home surveyors dont cover plumbing and electrics, they only carry out visual inspections and are not qualified to physically test

Hi Gissle Does your dishwasher have a removable filter like washing machines do? Washing machines often suffer this when the removable filter is blocked up... It should look like a flap/small door on the front possibly?
  16. Is that it? Your intro, and your asking others to help you? Ye gets out what ye puts in my friend...
  17. How about you sign your posts with an actual name, rather than pushing your business name down everybodies throats? Your name is?
  18. Why not tell us a little about yourself, let others get to know you, and what you get up to, othe than just 2 words?
  19. If it was my plug socket, I would head down to my local model shop and ask them the best way to make a stand-off, to go behind the face plate, onto the wall. My local modelshop does some amazing things with almost any materials, on their laser cutter, so you could by some really nice sheet perspex, and have it cut perfectly, to stick to the back of the faceplate, giving you those few millimetres, zero hassle wrecking the wall, and a unique look to your plugs in any colour you like, and all in minutes rather than days, with zero mess! Obviously you provide the plastic, but I've bought all sorts
  20. Adrian Personally, I would have used plastic driveway grid bases, and set them on firm, compacted level ground, then laid big slabs on them, as the base... Get the base up off the ground, away from moisture, and allow water to drain away, as this method would have the base at least 3" higher than surrounding ground. Then I would have set out either 2x2 or 4x4 in a grid to build the base on... Overkill, probably, but extremely effective, given you want to use the shed far more regularly than its intended purpose, no doubt have a chair rolling about on the floor too? As for insulation, polystyre
